Mucha Interchange forms part of the Second Northern Taiwan Freeway.
Main contractor was BES. Specialist sub-contractor for balanced cantilever and incremental launching was L & M Systems of Singapore. Prestressing by BBR system.
Three individual bridges were constructed using the balanced cantilever method, main spans were 85 m. Other parts of the project were constructed using incremental launching or on conventional falsework.
Technical services provided included:
- Check and modify design of form carriers
- Commission and operate form carriers for balanced cantilever construction.
- Technical assistance for incremental launching of concrete bridges
- Liaison with main contractor on design and construction matters.
